Over 65 million people around the world have been forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war in the greatest human displacement since World War II. This Sunday the Christ Church Outreach Committee will host a Forum on the global refugee situation at 10am addressing this crisis. We will kick off our conversation with the viewing of a clip from the Award Winning film called Human Flow. This epic film journey, led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei, gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration. Captured over the course of an eventful year in 23 countries, the film follows a chain of urgent human stories that stretches across the globe and will provide a platform from which to further discuss the global refugee situation. Additionally Master Dong, a Capitol Hill resident and leader of the non-profit HomeDo, who provides in-person humanitarian support for Syrian refugees in Turkey, will share some of his first-hand experiences. Anyone interested in the issue of refugees, internationally and domestically, is encouraged to attend.
