20s/30s Group

Our young adult group hosts social events quarterly, has a winter education/formation series, and participates in all aspects of the life of the parish from choir to Sunday School teaching to outreach events.  About 10% of our congregation are young adults.  Upcoming 20s/30s Group Events:

  • Backyard Dinner at the Rectory (Friday, Oct 27, 6:30pm): Cara and Michael are hosting us in their back yard (right next to the church) and we’ll be cooking dinner in their outdoor pizza oven. Bring your favorite sweet and savory pizza topping(s) and best topping combo ideas.
  • Halloween (Tuesday, Oct 31, 5:30pm until the candy runs out): For the last several years, a group of young adults has given out candy (supplied by the church) to trick-or-treaters from the front lawn. The sanctuary is lit with candles and visitors can go in to hear the organ if they want. There is a fire pit and beer too (for candy distributers, not the kids). If you are in an apartment/condo and miss seeing trick-or-treaters, you will not be disappointed.
  • Thanksgiving Family Night (Monday, Nov 20th6-8pm): Every Thanksgiving week we host families from the Capitol Hill Group Ministry transitional housing program for a fun evening of food and crafts. We can use help with side dishes, desserts, set up, clean up, and craft supervision. Feel free to drop in and out as your schedule permits, even if it’s just to eat and chat with our guests.  This is not a young adult event, but the young adult groups have always been a strong presence among the volunteers.

Quilters
The quilters meet at 7:30 pm most Monday evenings in the Upper Rooms of the Parish Hall. Experience with sewing or Christ Church membership are not required. For more information about the quilters qroup or raffle ticket availability contact the quilter co-chairs: Linda Mellgren or Andrea Harles.

Brew Crew
Brew Crew meets every six weeks to brew and bottle together in the church kitchen on a Sunday afternoon.  They experiment with making different kinds of beer, hold consumption parties, and often provide beer for church fellowship events.
