Holy Eucharist and breakfast

Christ Church is a vibrant congregation located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Our members come from diverse religious backgrounds, which is reflected in our worship and music. We are an Episcopal church that explores the breadth of our liturgical tradition through our worship.

We celebrate the Eucharist (communion) at both Sunday services.  The 11:00am service has music provided by our choir from September through May.

Sunday School typically runs from September through May and is occasionally replaced with intergenerational activities celebrating the liturgical season.  We have four classes – PK/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th-8th.  Children’s Chapel is available during the 9:00am and 11:00am services for grades PreK-2nd grade. Children are welcome during worship and there are tote bags with children’s activity books at the entrances for readers and non-readers.  (Please return the bags after the service.). If your child needs a break during the service, our library (near the Parish Hall) and narthex (church entrance area) have speakers so you can continue to hear the service even if you are not in the nave.

Nursery care is available beginning at 8:45am for both the 9:00am and the 11:00am service and is available for children ages 3 and younger. (We encourage children ages Pre-K- 2nd Grade to attend Children’s Chapel.)

We are handicap accessible through the courtyard entrance, adjunct to the parking lot.

If you attend regularly, you will experience variety in our worship — whether it is the use of different prayers, different genres of music or changes to the church interior. But there will never be a doubt that you are joining an Episcopal worship service. During the summer, we embrace a more casual attire and encourage you to dress as you are comfortable. Attire is as varied as the congregation. Some dress up. Others wear jeans. All are welcome.

We value high-quality preaching at Christ Church. Our members like to read or listen to sermons when they miss church on Sunday. You may read or listen to many recent sermons.
