Reverend John A. Kellogg – 29th Rector of Christ Church

October 2020 – present

Announcement on Sept 2, 2020

September 2, 2020

Dear Christ Church Parishioners,

I am pleased to share that the Vestry has called the Reverend John A. Kellogg as the 29th Rector of Christ Church + Washington Parish. As you will note in his biography below, John has served as a rector and he has also served as a missioner for the Diocese of New Orleans.

Given the longer than anticipated interim process, the pandemic, social justice issues and the state of the economy, I know that we have all been anxiously waiting this announcement. I would like to thank the Search Committee, especially co-chairs Jean Denton and Paul Laymon for allowing the Vestry to make a call from a group of exceptional candidates. Please join me in thanking Jean, Paul, and the entire Search Committee for their tremendous work the past 15 months. The Search Committee was comprised of: co-chairs, Jean Denton and Paul Laymon; Ruth Kroeger; Andrew Lyons; John Payne; Karen Wilson Roman; Kirsten Sloan; and Cathy Hurst Weber.

John plans to start work on October 5th and will preach his first Sunday on October 11th. Please join me in welcoming the Kelloggs to the Christ Church Washington Parish family.
