Annual Events

Christ Church likes to gather around a table – in its worship and in its fellowship.  Simply said, we like to eat.  You can count on a parish event happening about once a month.  Dates noted are for the program 2019-2020 year (Sept. – Aug.).

Kick-off Sunday (September 8) – We start the program year off with a potluck and bouncy castle for the kids. Sunday School resumes (after a summer hiatus) at 10am and the Christ Church Choir returns from the summer break.

Oktoberfest (October 6) – A fundraiser for Samaritan Ministries (one of our community partners) featuring delicious food and live music with libations provided by The Christ Church Brew Crew. For more information, click here.

Thanksgiving (November 28) – After our Thanksgiving morning service at 11am, we gather for Thanksgiving lunch in the Parish Hall.

St. Nicholas Day Dinner and Christmas Shop (December 7) – This event celebrates the season with food, friends, and a visit from St. Nick for the children.

Christmas Eve Festive Potluck (December 24) – After our 10:30pm service, congregants gather in the Parish Hall to celebrate Christmas.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (February 25) – On the evening before Ash Wednesday, we gather for pancakes, sausage, bacon, and other breakfast foods for dinner.  The children gather to burn last year’s palms into ashes and participate in an early Ash Wednesday service.

Trivia Night (TBD) – We gather for a fun evening of group trivia. Childcare provided.

St. Patrick’s Dinner and Silent Auction (March 14th)  – This annual event celebrates our community and raises money for Christ Church.

Easter Reception and Egg Hunt (April 12th) – After our 9am and 11am worship on Easter, we have a festive reception and egg hunt with a visit from the Easter bunny.

Pentecost Luncheon on the Front Lawn (May 31st) –  After the 11am worship, we gather to celebrate the church’s birthday on the front lawn (weather permitting) or in the Parish Hall if there is increment weather.

July 4th Picnic (July 4th) – We gather to celebrate our country’s Independence with a potluck picnic before the fireworks.

Grill and Chill (Summer Wednesdays TBD) Our summer grill-outs are a great opportunity for congregants and neighbors to mingle as children play on the lawn.  Bring a side or dessert to share.

Crab Feast (Late Summer) – Come feast on locally-caught, steamed crabs, corn-on-the-cob, and watermelon. Kid-friendly menu provided.
