Many churches have worship committees. Christ Church has Liturgists, whose members strive to engage the congregation in the various components of worship.
At their monthly meetings, Liturgists work with the rector to plan the Sunday services and they reflect on the worship life of the congregation. Unlike many worship committees, however, Christ Church Liturgists help the clergy lead worship at all services. They also prepare for services by performing sacristy work.
Serving as a lector or intercessor (leading prayers) is a great way to take part in worship. If you want to be included in the rota, you can contact Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have two training videos here (less than 5 minutes) to assist you in this role, and the liturgist for the day can walk you through if you arrive 15 minutes early. Some additional tips for lectors are here.
