The Reverend Cara Spaccarelli began her ministry in 2010 as the 28th rector of Christ Church. Cara is passionate about the local church being a place of respite, renewal, and transformation, providing space and opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work in the relationships, the worship, and the overall life of the congregation. She is dedicated to her own spiritual growth and encourages congregants to find ways to engage their own spiritual lives in ways that nurture and challenge them. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cara was raised in the Episcopal Church, and first experienced her call to the priesthood while ministering as a counselor at an Episcopal camp. She graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a major in American Studies. She received her MDiv at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. Ordained in 2006 in the Diocese of Minnesota, Cara served at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Minneapolis for four years in the areas of youth, outreach, young adults, and adult formation. Outside of church, Cara is periodically a runner, occasionally a crafter, and always on the search for the next tool that will make her more efficient and organized in the running of her life. Cara and her husband, Michael, keep active with two sons, Riley and Aden, who can often be seen enjoying coffee hour twice on Sunday.
