Christ Church+Washington Parish is pleased to present Dr. Jinsun Cho in recital on Christ Church’s Casavant Freres Pipe Organ, Opus 3914, on Sunday, February 23rd at 4:00pm. Free admission. Reception follows.
Dr. Cho is the Music Director at The Church of Epiphany (Washington, DC) and is known widely as a versatile and critically-acclaimed organist. Dr. Cho’s experience spans performance, musical leadership and academic roles in Baltimore/Washington DC area, and her native South Korea. She has appeared in concerts throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and South Korea. She holds the Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music and Organ from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. After receiving the Master of Music degree with Lynn Taylor Hebden Prize in performance and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, she completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Previously she has served as the Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in Bethesda, MD; the organist at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Annandale, VA; and the assistant director of the Capitol Hill Chorale in Washington, DC. She has also taught courses in sacred music and applied organ/piano at Yonsei University, Mokwon University in South Korea, and the Catholic University of America and Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
