Trivia Night

Trivia Night returns! Join us for pizza, delicious adult beverages (courtesy of the Christ Church Brew Crew), and trivia.  Begin putting together your team (3-5 people) or sign up to be assigned to a group. All are welcome and encouraged to join us. Childcare will be provided. We request a goodwill offering to offset costs. Concert of “the President’s Own” United States Marine Band

As part of our 225th Anniversary Celebration, Christ Church + Washington Parish is pleased to welcome a brass ensemble from “the President’s Own” United States Marine Band, celebrating the historic relationship between Christ Church “Navy Yard” and the Marine Barracks. The musical selection will include pieces by John Philip Sousa, America’s “March King,” who was a longtime Christ Church parishioner and renowned Marine band-master. This concert is free and open to all. A reception will follow the concert.

Oktoberfest to Benefit Samaritan Ministries

Christ Church is hosting a fundraiser for Samaritan Ministries of Greater Washington on Sunday, October 6 from 5pm – 8pm. The menu will include Texas Smoked Brisket with beans, coleslaw and dessert with libations provided by the Christ Church Brew Crew. Music will be performed by local favorites, the Capitol Hillbillies. Adult Forum Guest Speaker – James Moody, Bishop Walker School for Boys

James Woody, Executive Director and President, Bishop Walker School for Boys, will be the featured guest speaker on Sunday, May 5 at 10am. Pentecost Picnic

June 9th is Pentecost when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the church.  It is the only Sunday of the year when our liturgical color is Red. Following the 11am service, we will host the annual Pentecost Luncheon on the Lawn (rain location – Parish Hall). We provide the ham and rolls and ask you to bring a side dish/salad/dessert ready to be served. And wear your red!

Farewell Open House

Ash Wednesday Services

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Ash Wednesday services will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:30am and 7pm. We will not be able to perform the imposition of ashes due to needing to be socially distanced. Please join us at 7:30am via Zoom and at 7pm via Facebook Live (@ChristChurchDC) or on our Watch Online page. Lenten Film Series

Our annual Lenten film series will take place in the Parish Hall on Fridays during Lent (except March 13). The group will select a theme for Lent (tbc) and each event will begin with a light supper at 6:30pm followed by a short reading from the Bible, the movie and a discussion. We’ll have a sign up sheet for each week.
